MILAN SS26 HIT LIST
Written By Jessica Pecoraro
Milan is always one of my favourite cities, but there’s something about Fashion Week that makes it even better. I was sad to miss being on the ground this season, but even from afar, the excitement still gets me.
This year felt like a turning point, with several new creative directors unveiling debut collections from Denma at Gucci, Dario Vitale at Versace and Louise Trotter at Bottega which that not only lived up to expectation but infused the week with a fresh, invigorating energy. What struck me most was the balance between individuality and synergy. Each house presented a strong, distinct point of view, yet certain themes wove their way across collections.
Tailoring was a big one sharp, but softened with soft fabrics that made it feel effortless rather than rigid. Metallics, lace and and the over all real sense of sexiness was also at the forefront thanks to brands like Versace and The Attico reimagined beyond evening wear into day-to-night pieces, and outerwear was everywhere. Colour was very much present from Jill Sander to Prada. Accessories carried that same sense of longevity yet in a fashion forward sense, with platforms, socks worn under satellites and silk and cotton heels. The Week ended with Giorgio Armani's 50th Anniversary collection and the final collection under Signore Giorgio Armani.
For me, Milan always sets the tone for how fashion will feel in the coming months, and this season was no exception. There was a new energy on the runways feeling modern, confident, and unapologetically bold and I can’t wait to see how these trends translate from the runway to the street.
